Hughes shows Hall of Fame skills with UFC 117 win over Almeida

In his first bout since being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame, Matt Hughes choked out Ricardo Almeida with a front headlock at 3:15 in the first round at UFC 117.  Hughes knocked Almeida to the ground with a big left, then finished him off with a quick choke from a front headlock. Almeida never had the chance to tap, and went out cold from the choke. Hughes, a former wrestler and wrestling coach at Eastern Illinois University, credited his wrestling training for that move."It's an old wrestling move I learned at Eastern Illinois," he said after the fight. "I'm happy to beat a Brazilian with a wrestling move."Hughes said that July's Hall of Fame induction put extra expectations on him to win his next bout. "Darn Dana White had to go and put me in the Hall of Fame and put pressure on my shoulders, so it feels good. Hughes said that he's going to take the fall off to go hunting, and then will discuss his next fight with UFC president Dana White. Though Hughes is removed from his championship form, he does have three straight wins since losing to Thiago Alves in June of 2008.
