Palaszewski TKOs Micklewright to start WEC 50
Wearing a brightly colored, off-kilter mohawk, Bart Palaszewski TKOed Zack Micklewright 31 seconds into the second round to kick off the main card of WEC 50 in Las Vegas on Wednesday night. Micklewright got the better of Palaszewski during the a standup-filled first round. Both showed off crisp striking, with Micklewright employing an effective left hook, but that didn't matter in the second round. Palaszewski came out swinging in the second and threw a series of punches that pushed Micklewright back into the cage. He add a body kick and then finished him off with a huge right hand that knocked Micklewright to the ground. Referee Steve Mazzagatti stopped the bout. Since losing to Anthony Njokuani at WEC 40 last spring, Palaszewski has been on a tear. He's beaten Tyler Combs, Anthony Pettis and Karen Darabedyan before taking out Micklewright.
